Both legs must be at the same book. A parlay is one ticket — the builder prices it as the book would, then sizes it by your own Kelly rules.

The stakes are not equal, and that is the point. They're solved so both misses cost exactly the same — stake the same amount on each side instead and you'd lose a different amount depending on which way it went. You tell it what you're willing to lose ($5 here) and it works backwards to the stakes; if cash is the constraint instead, cap the total and it sizes down to fit.
The two sides can sit at different books — that gap is usually what creates the middle. One side always wins, so of the $42.05 on the table the most you can lose is $5.00, against a $32.06 hit. This one is a pricey window at 13.5%; cheaper spreads pay several times better for the same risk, and the board ranks them that way.
M builds a middle. Press it on two opposing sides and the builder works out the gap between them, which exact results win both bets, what the window costs to hold, and how to split the stake so either outcome pays the same.
